Supporting emotional wellbeing and learning in schools
I provide a professional, school-based counselling service for primary age children. My work supports pupils who are experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties that may affect their wellbeing, relationships, or ability to learn. Each pupil receives regular one-to-one sessions in a safe, confidential space within school. This consistent support helps pupils feel understood, valued, and ready to engage more fully in school life.
My approach is relationship and play-based therapy incorporating play, art, and talking therapies to meet each pupil’s individual needs. Through this work, pupils develop greater emotional awareness, resilience, and self-esteem, which can lead to improved focus, behaviour, and learning outcomes.
By partnering with schools, I aim to provide a trusted, evidence-informed service that complements your existing pastoral and wellbeing provision helping to create a more emotionally healthy school community.
“Amanda’s support for our school has been invaluable. She has supported children with a wide range of needs and has shown flexibility and creativity in finding ways to engage them and establish relationships. We have seen real impact from the sessions in children’s confidence in speaking up and knowing that their voice is important. Amanda has given children a safe space to explore their feelings and communicate them in a positive and empowering way.”
