Counselling for Children and Young People
BACP Logo 387093

Play and the creative arts help children and young people to make sense of their inner world and connect with their emotions. They can freely explore solutions to problems they are facing in their lives.

Create and Connect takes an integrative approach to one-to-one counselling sessions and provides support for children and young people aged 3–17 years old. This flexible approach means that counselling sessions are tailored to a child’s individual social, emotional and physical needs and personal circumstances. The therapeutic relationship formed between the counsellor and the child provides a safe environment where they feel listened to and understood. Allowing emotions to be expressed in a playful and creative way can help children to: improve self-esteem and confidence; develop emotional literacy; improve relationships with others; improve the ability to regulate emotions and be more focussed in class.

Create and Connect currently offers counselling in Primary Schools and at West Street Counselling Centre, in Fareham, on a Wednesday evening.
