One-to-one Counselling and play-based therapy for Children
I specialise in work with primary-aged children( 4–11) with continuation into secondary school where appropriate. I provide counselling and play-based therapy in primary schools and sessions after school in West Street, Fareham.
“I founded Create and Connect Counselling as I believe early emotional support can help shape a happier childhood and a healthier future. “
Childhood is full of change and growth. Although many children cope well most of the time, sometimes life can feel bigger than they know how to manage. Whether they are struggling with friendships or school life; adjusting to family changes; coping with bereavement; feeling more anxious or they are simply not themselves – a little extra support can make a huge difference.
As a parent, it’s natural to want to help but with so much advice available, it can be difficult to know where to turn. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Sometimes, the right support at the right time- can make all the difference.
At Create and Connect Counselling, I offer a safe creative space where children, on a one-to-one basis with myself, can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. Using an integrative approach combining play, creativity and talk therapy I help children understand emotions, build confidence and develop healthy ways of coping. Many of the children I support have an ADHD or Autism diagnosis or are waiting for an assessment.

In-school counselling provision
School counselling is at the heart of my professional practice. Following my specialist training in children’s trauma-informed counselling in London, I have worked as a school counsellor in primary schools for over six years. I currently provide weekly counselling provision within primary schools in the Waterlooville area of Hampshire. Prior to this role, I was a primary teacher for seventeen years so I bring a deep understanding of child development, behaviour, and the school environment into my therapeutic work.
I offer one-to-one counselling for children experiencing a range of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, bereavement, family-related challenges, emotional regulation difficulties and school-based concerns.
Many of the children I work with have already benefited from support through their school’s ELSA provision. In some cases, counselling can be a helpful next step, providing regular therapeutic sessions where children can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences in greater depth.
