About Amanda Rippengale
The decision to become a child counsellor reflects my lifelong passion and dedication to help children grow into the best version of themselves. I believe that early intervention is key to a happier and healthier adulthood.
Hi, I’m Amanda and I welcome you to my website.
I am a fully qualified professional child counsellor based in Fareham supporting children and teenagers aged 4-17 years through challenges like anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, school avoidance, managing big emotions, bullying, bereavement and more…
Before becoming a child counsellor, I spent seventeen years as a primary school teacher so I deeply understand how school life, friendships, family changes can impact children’s wellbeing. For the past five years, I have worked as a child and adolescent counsellor both in school settings and in the evenings in West street, Fareham. I have helped numerous children and young people feel heard and understood and more confident in themselves.
I take an integrative approach to counselling, meaning I draw on a range of techniques to suit your child’s individual needs. This includes play therapy, expressive arts and talking therapy. I trained at the Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE), in London, and I believe in creating a safe, warm respectful space where children can explore their feelings in their own way.
I am fully insured, DBS checked and on the update service. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their Code of Ethics.
I offer after school appointments for families and also work in partnership with primary schools across Hampshire.
